Talk the TalK
Based on the POWERtalk International Training Program, Talk The Talk is a one-day education session and workshop. Participants will learn the “Top 10 Tips” of effective presentation delivery as well as review the “Stellar Speech” Competition rules. This year’s workshop will be held at Byrne Creek Community School in Burnaby on Sunday January 18 from 10:00am-5:30pm.
Youth Council members will present interactive modules where participants learn the “Top 10 Tips” of effective presentation delivery. We will also review the “Stellar Speech” Competition rules.
Module topics include platform presence, body language and gestures, vocal effectiveness, talking habits and speech construction, technical and visual aids, and how to bring all of these components together to create an impactful presentation. Participants will be provided lunch and door prizes will be available. UH ;
The focus of this workshop is to prepare the Grade 11 and 12 contestants to compete in the annual “Stellar Stars” Speech Competition on February 23, 2025. There will be a $2,000.00 scholarship awarded to the competition winner.
