Jr. Black Achievement Awards (JrBAA) Society was restored in April 2022 to offer educational programs, recognition, awards, and provide financial assistance for post-secondary education to successful applicants of the Black Community in BC.

We empower Black Youth and their families through training, recognition, and access to education.

We are working towards a community that celebrates the successes, culture, and heritage of the Black Community in BC.

We believe in increasing access to education for members of the Black Community in BC.

We believe that the Black Community should be part of decision-making processes and policy creation in society and that our work will make that possible.

OUR PROGRAMS

  • Holding educational opportunities which foster advancement through intergenerational training and mentoring to promote and nurture a deeper appreciation of our cultural diversity and heritage.

  • Offering training and education in communication and leadership skills, health and wellness, money matters, community activism, and civic engagement.

  • To provide scholarships to those interested in obtaining a post-secondary education.

  • Hosting the Annual Jr. Black Achievement Awards Educational Event highlighting the trades panel and communication competition.

  • Hosting the Annual Jr. Black Achievement Awards Ceremony to provide recognition and celebrate the success of our youth.
